About the music: ‘Icarus’ reinterprets the myth of Daedalus, reflecting on the loss of Erik's father. This emotionally charged work combines performances by some of Canada’s finest classical soloists with contemporary electroacoustic sound design. The album features unique harmonies created by digitally reversing the piano, a technique Erik developed with the support of a Canada Council research grant.
The Live Show: The live performance features a string quartet, piano, and live electronics by Devon Bate with staging designed by Jon Cleveland to create an immersive experience.
